Target has made a deal with music legend Prince to be the exclusive retail outlet for his new three-disc set. The Prince collection features two original studio albums, LOtUSFLOW3R and MPLSoUND. A third record, Elixer, by Bria Valente, Prince’s newest protege, who Prince proclaimed- “A whole lot of people are gonna get pregnant off
of this [album]“. All three albums will be sold as a bundle for the low price of $11.98.

Other than the fact that both hail from Minneapolis, what brings the mega retailer together with the mega star is money! Linking up with an exclusive retailer is a profitable idea for well-established musicians.

Prince has previously tried out alternative ways to distribute his music. Copies of his 2007 CD “Planet Earth” were delivered with British newspaper The Mail on Sunday. Last fall, he released a coffee table book of photos titled “21 Nights” documenting his record-breaking, 21-night run at London’s 02 Arena in 2007. The book also included a CD of live performances.
