Tiffany & Co, the world’s diamond authority, has announced a new engagement ring to debut this spring.Ā The “Bezet Ring” was designed for the modern woman and will be offered in various styles. Arriving in May 2009, it will be available in a heart, pear, princess, or radiant round shape on a platinum band. The namesake for the ring stems from the unique Bezel method of setting the stone. Bezel gem settings use a type of elevated collar which wraps the rim of the diamond in a complete metal edging, in this case, platinum. This type of ring setting is the most secure and protective fastener for the stones.
One of the major advantages to the bezel setting is that the diamond is better protected from accidental rubbing or blows. At the same time, a bezel setting is less likely to allow the diamond or engagement rings to scratch or mar something which it comes in contact with. Since the bezel setting is the most secure, the Bezet ring is perfect for the modern woman on the go.
The Tiffany & Co. press release describes the latest addition to the Tiffany family as a ring that “exudes an extraordinary charisma that complements a woman for a lifetime.”
The Tiffany Bezet collection will be available at select Tiffany & Co. stores worldwide in May 2009. For more information, call 800 TIFFANY or access tiffany.com.
