Once upon a time there were the “fashion-conscious”. In recent years, we have become morally conscious about the environment. But now, a new branch of consciousness has emerged- the “eco-fashion-conscious”. Eco-fashion refers to clothing that takes the environment and health of the consumer into account, often using organic raw materials. These fashions do not use harmful bleaches to color fabrics and are made by factories that promote healthy working conditions and fair wages.

Many designers have embraced this mentality of fashion with a cause. However, these clothes tend to be much less affordable than your average t shirt. Leave it to Target® to bring green products to the mainstream. In their second collaboration, designer Rogan is releasing “Loomstate for Target®”, which will offer environmentally friendly goods for men and women. Rogan’s main Loomstate fashion line, includes organic-cotton tops for around $200, and is sold at Saks and Barneys Co-Op. The Target diffusion line will go for $14.99 to $44.99. Rogan’s first Target® line, GO International proved successful, and he is the first designer invited back for seconds.

Loomstate for Target® hits stores April 19, 2009….just in time for Earth Day.
