Bloomingdale’s is pulling out all the stops this year for the 2008 Holiday Season. This November, Bloomie’s music inspired holiday campaign should bring excitement and great gift ideas to homes across the nation, at every budget. The promotions available include: a legendary Sony Music/iTunes collaboration, six unique gift packages, the launch of the premier edition Infinity G 2009 convertible, a new music magazine, and of course- the annual little brown bear by Gund ($16).
Legendary singer Tony Bennett has designed an original watercolor of the famous New York City Bloomingdale’s that will be printed on electronic gift cards. Each card comes with a free exclusive “Jingle Bells” track from iTunes for your downloading pleasure. Bloomie’s will also carry Bennett’s new CD- “Tony Bennett: A Swingin’ Christmas” to sell online and in stores.
The 2008 Bloomingdale’s holiday catalogue will feature an audio greeting from Tony Bennett as well as a chance to bid on six amazing experiences to be auctioned between December 1-11. Experiences with John Mayer, Tony Bennett, Yo-Yo Ma, Celine Dion, iCarly’s Miranda Cosgrove and Lang Lang- all include airfare and a suite at a five star hotel. Proceeds of the auction will be donated to Bloomingdale’s holiday charity partner, Musicians On Call (MOC), a nonprofit organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities.
Additionally, luxury auto retailer Infiniti will make 199 Premier Edition G Convertibles available to Bloomingdales’ customers through the catalog - six months before the vehicle is available to the public. The custom G Convertibles’ comes fully loaded with exclusively unique Monaco red leather interior, hand-crafted Maple Wood Trim (red), Midnight Black Grille and 19″ Accessory Wheels as well as an upgraded Bose® Open Air Sound System and Adaptive Climate Control System. The G convertible will also be on display at four Bloomingdale’s locations from December 10- January 10, 2009. These locations include Tysons Corner in McLean, VA, Lenox Square in Atlanta, GA, Mall of Millennia in Orlando, FL and South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA.
In the November issue of Little Brown Book, Bloomingdale’s custom magazine, music will be celebrated with some of the industry’s top names. Gwen Stefani, Justin Timberlake, and Tony Bennett discuss their musical and style inspirations. Each of the magazine’s “Insiders Only” offers relate to music - whether it’s tickets to The Grammy Awards or the opportunity to purchase a print of a signed, numbered album from The Beatles.
And finally, the most heartwarming aspect of the campaign culminates with the donation of the auction proceeds to Musicians On Call, which brings the gift of music to the sick and bed-ridden. MOC provides hospitals with complete “CD libraries” and players for patient use. A CD Pharmacy consists of at least 200 CDs handpicked to reflect the demographics of each hospital. In partnership with Bloomingdale’s, these CD Pharmacies will be sent to a hospital in every city where Bloomingdale’s stores are located.
Whether you can afford a new convertible, dinner with Tony Bennett, or just a little brown teddy bear, Bloomie’s is certainly bringing the holiday cheer this year.
